It’s official! The upstairs is complete and ready for reveal…but it hasn’t come easy for Kyal and Kara!
In this episode we see the bench tops laid and the plumbing fitted in the kitchen. The risk with the kitchen colour has paid off. The butler’s pantry with entry behind the cabinetry will have you envious!
When designing a room, Kyal and Kara say they always start with choosing the key pieces – like the lounge. All the furniture has been delivered and is unpacked and set up ready to go – so we get to see what their key pieces are! Now it’s starting to look like a home.
The open plan living area has been improved by the removal of the old pantry wall. The creation of the butler’s pantry with entry behind the kitchen cabinetry is a great extension of the kitchen and gives more bench and storage space. The island bench under the skylight creates a focal point in the open living area. Kara makes a smart decision about the TV wall – but Kyal’s not happy about it.
The kitchen style is a lovely combination of traditional, with some modern touches – like a brushed gold tap! A Wideline awning window has been installed over the sink to allow airflow even in inclement weather.
In the dining area, our Wideline casement windows are located over the dining table’s bench seats, which gives natural light over the whole dining table. Elegant white French doors with colonial bars have been installed to open out to the balcony.
Kyal and Kara’s bedroom has a relaxed coastal feel with soft blue walls and north opening casement windows which will bring in the sun.
Looking into the bathroom, what catches your eye is the elegant bath under the feature window.
But there’s still more to come because there’s the whole downstairs to go! We are yet to see the studio, other bedrooms, laundry and another bathroom. Till next time...
