The episode 4 reveal of Blue Lagoon Build reno series is all about the parents’ retreat. And it absolutely is the grandest room in the house.
Located on the top level of this four bedroom home, the fixtures and fittings all come together to create a sense of luxury.
Raked ceiling, 3m high walls, curved wall leading to walk-in robe and ensuite, wool carpet, floor to ceiling sheer and block out curtains, and an abundance of natural north-eastern light combine to soften this dreamy space.
Kara says “It’s a beautiful space to enjoy each other’s company”. “If you still like each other at the end of the build” adds Kyal, with a sideways glance.
The build certainly does capture every ounce of natural light. Enter the custom arch doorways and move through the walk-in robe, on to the ensuite guided all the while by sunbeams or moonshine coming from sky lights overhead.
In the ensuite a 2.8m high louvre window stands centered in relation to the middle skylight, opposite the Angourie Vanity. LuminaCloud obscure glass is used in the louvre here to ensure privacy and enhance the light infusion. You can read more about the room selections in their Journal here.
Kara shares, “our vision for the master bedroom is that you can be lying in bed or standing in the shower and pretty much everywhere you are in that room you can look out a window and just see trees”.
