Can Louvres Be Locked? - Wideline Windows and Doors

Can louvres be locked?

Image

Louvre windows are a great addition to any home, they have timeless appeal and style. Louvres offer optimum natural ventilation, allowing air to flow through almost 100% of the window area. Angled blades can direct the breeze to where it is needed most, or to allow as little or as much fresh air in. Closed louvres seal tightly to keep water and wind out.

One question we are often asked however is "are they lockable?" and the great news is yes! All louvres across Wideline's aluminium ranges can be key locked.

The locks are a strong and durable zinc cast with a brushed finish, chrome plated metal construction. This finish not only looks great but also delivers strength and durability. The louvre comes with a low profile handle that sits flush and is no intrusive on the appearance of the window. No ongoing maintenance outside of normal cleaning is required for long operational life.

The keylock is installed on the left hand side (view from outside) of the louvre blades as standard and the same key can be used to lock or unlock each lock. Please note that the keylock only engages fully once the key has been removed. SecureLine™ screens are still your only option to protect an open louvre.
