Being constructed with single vertical frames, awning windows are hinged at the top; and casement windows are hinged at one side. They bring you panoramic views, are easy to operate and provide conveniently controlled ventilation.
The robust but elegant external frames offer strength in exposed areas such as buildings higher than 10 metres or those in cyclonic areas. They are fitted with a full-perimeter sash seals for maximum weather protection while reducing air infiltration.
For improved security, Paragon awning/casement windows come with an efficient locking system and can be readily fitted with matching Paragon insect screens.
Extra Information for Architects, Designers and Builders:
The Paragon awning and casement range creates great design flexibility, providing the ability to incorporate large door-like opening sashes.
Site lines can be minimised with sash panels up to 2100mm high and 800mm wide. Multiple configurations are available with a 100mm x 40mm outer frame to incorporate fixlites, highlites and transoms.
Double quality full-perimeter compression seals provide extreme weather protection and greatly minimise air infiltration, an important consideration for air-conditioned homes.
The sashes can cater for glazing up to 24mm (eg, 6/12/6 double glazing) and can have individually glazed colonial bar arrangements to match doors.
Stainless steel hinges and quality hardware are standard. Large sashes are fitted with multi-point locks to ensure full-perimeter sealing and performance. Internally fitted insect screens allow easy unhindered operation of the sashes.
Paragon casement windows can be opened to 90° to maximise ventilation and allow easy cleaning of the outside surface.
Performance - Water resistance performance with standard sill: 450Pa (tested).
