Construction work at Grove Church in the St George region of Sydney was necessary to bring an old building up to 21st century standards.

By improving accessibility and safety, as well as making the space more versatile for its many uses throughout the week, the renovation would also be a great enhancement to parish life at St Aidan’s Anglican.

It was important to create a thoughtfully designed environment where the extension and refurbishment would connect harmoniously with existing fixtures.

Taking a holistic approach, builder Cash McInnes Projects specified Wideline to ensure a consistent aesthetic in planning for the supply and installation of windows and glazing systems.

A more contemporary style of obscure glass was chosen for replacement windows in the cathedral area, LuminaMist being the most sympathetic to the existing glazing. The benefits of translucent laminated glass not only provide privacy and draw in a divine infused natural light, it also works to conserve energy within a building by reducing solar heat gain.

Through a sympathetic design engineering process that adapted traditional outer frames with the latest materials and technology, Wideline devised a window schedule that harmonized the old with the new.
